The First Presbyterian Church of Axtell, Nebraska was (and still is) a church mission plant that started in the year 1883. The idea for a Presbyterian Church came from some faithful Sunday School folks. Eventually a building was built, and we moved to our current location some time after that. Over the years, Axtell and the First Presbyterian Church have endured a fire, dust storms, ice storms, and many social changes. In each era, we have sought to reach out in new ways to the community of Axtell. We are a collection of stories ranging from an Gold Medalist Olympic Pastor to a teacher serving over 30 years, from a missionary traveling to Egypt to a farmer who has cared for the land over 40 years. All of these stories come together as a witness to the love Jesus Christ has for you. We would love to hear your story, share our story with you, and be part of your story in growing closer to God.
